Waxing Aftercare

before your appointment

  • Wear loose-fitted, comfortable clothing.

  • Shower before your appointment to arrive fresh and clean.

  • Give yourself a couple of hours after drinking caffeine or alcohol before your appointment.

  • Avoid trimming or shaving any hairs before your wax. The hairs should be about 1/4 of an inch, or as long as a grain of rice.

after your appointment

In the first 24 hours after your wax, the area is very vulnerable, sensitive, and even more susceptible to infection and bacteria.

This is why preforming proper waxing aftercare is super important in making sure you prevent infection, ingrown hairs, and have healthy, long-lasting results

Here is a list of "Do's and Dont's" in the first 24 hours after your wax.

don't:

  • Extreme Heat- Avoid Saunas, Tanning Beds

  • Standing Waters- No Swimming Pools, Baths, or Hot Tubs

  • Exercise

  • Sexual Activity

  • Touching

  • Shaving -Avoid shaving between waxes, just throw the razor away!

  • Exfoliate right after your appointment

Do:

  • WEAR LOOSE FITTED CLOTHING- Tight clothing can cause friction and irritation to freshly waxed skin. Make sure you wear something loose and comfortable the day of your appointment.

  • STAY CONSISTENT- Book your next appointment 3 weeks out. The more consistent you are in your wax journey, the more results you'll see. Over time, you will start to notice the hair become thinner, sparser, softer, and eventually you'll notice very minimal hair growth overall.

  • EXFOLIATE- Make sure you are exfoliating the area 2-3 times a week to prevent ingrown hairs. Be careful not to over exfoliate by exceeding the 2-3x a week rule.

let's TALK exfoliation

What is exfoliation you ask? Exfoliation is the process of removing dead skin cells from the surface of your skin.

Exfoliating the skin prevents ingrown hairs and bumps by getting rid of dead skin cells that build up and clog the hair follicle. Furthermore, exfoliation forces the hair to grow up and out of the skin instead and under, which also causes ingrown hairs.

You should exfoliate 2-3x a week ONLY. Over exfoliation can cause redness, irritation, and damage to the skin. Since waxing is a form of exfoliation itself, we want to wait at least 72 hours after your appointment before taking a gentle scrub to the area.

You can purchase a gentle body scrub of your choice to exfoliate the area or make your own!

Here's a DIY 3-Ingredient recipe for a gentle exfoliant!

  • 1 Cup Granulated Sugar

  • 1 Cup Oil of your choice (Sunflower, Olive, Coconut, grapeseed, are all good choices)

  • A Couple Drops of Essential Oil (Peppermint or Tea Tree work wonderfly)

Eyelash Extension care

before your appointment

  • Wear comfortable clothing for maximum relaxation.

  • Come with a fresh, clean face with no makeup. Avoid applying any face creams or oils to the eye area.

  • If you wear contacts, remove them to allow your eyes to be in a natural, rested state during your appointment.

  • Give yourself a couple of hours after drinking caffeine or alcohol before your appointment.

  • Put your phone on silent to prevent checking your phone

After your appointment

OIL BASED PRODUCTS- Avoid any oil-based products near your extensions!

MASCARA OR LASH CURLER- Skip the mascara and lash curlers. These can damage your lashes or make them fall out faster. You just got your lashes done; you don't need it!

PICKING, PULLING, RUBBING- Picking or pulling your extensions can damage your natural lashes and cause lash loss.

You should also avoid rubbing your eyes as that can lessen the life of your lashes. â€‹

SWIMMING, SAUNAS, & TANNING BEDS- Avoid these activities for at least 48 hours after your service.
